Hyundai ix20 receives five-star Euro NCAP rating
The Hyundai ix20 has been awarded the maximum five-star safety rating by Euro NCAP, the independent vehicle assessment organisation.
It is the fourth consecutive Hyundai model to achieve the feat, making it one of the safest vehicles in the UK's B segment.
The model was given a class-leading score of 85 per cent in the child occupant protection category, while it reached 89 per cent and 64 per cent for adult occupant and pedestrian safety respectively.
Meanwhile, seatbelt reminders and an electronic stability programme helped it achieve 71 per cent in the safety assist category.
Allan Rushforth, senior vice-president of Hyundai in Europe, said: "Add to that a very generous standard specification, a range of efficient engines and the assurance of our unrivalled five-year triple care, and the ix20 becomes a very appealing package."
The car was launched in Europe in November last year but has already shipped 32,000 units.
Hyundai will unveil its new i40 D-segment model at the Geneva Motor Show next week.
