Intriguing Draw Confirmed For Vertu Trophy Quarter-Final
The quarter-final draw for the Vertu Trophy has thrown up a number of interesting ties as the road to Wembley becomes clear for those teams still in contention for the title.
As has been the case through the competition to date, the draw remains regionalised at this stage and has set up the potential for a huge tie in the Northern Section depending on the outcome of the Round of 16 tie between Port Vale and Wrexham.
The winner of that game will welcome Bolton Wanderers as the Trotters chase a place in the final for the second time in three seasons – and a record-equalling third trophy win.
Both Port Vale and Wrexham are chasing their second trophy success.
The other game in the Northern Section features another team to have recently featured in the final in the shape of 2021/22 winners Rotherham United who will host Bradford City – who were beaten in the semi-finals last season by Wycombe Wanderers.
In the Southern Section, the winner of the outstanding tie between Leyton Orient and Stevenage will be at home to Birmingham City, with Peterborough United’s quest to defend the title continuing with a home game against Cheltenham Town.
Cheltenham are the lowest ranked team still remaining in the competition this season.
Win A Toyota Aygo X!
To celebrate our role as title partner of the Vertu Trophy, we are giving away a Toyota Aygo X to one lucky person at the Wembley final on 13 April.
Ahead of the final, two people will win a pair of tickets to attend the game and when there, will take part in a special activity to determine who wins the car.
