Looking Ahead To A Busy October At Co-op Live

Music, entertainment and sport all feature on a bumper bill of events at Co-op Live – the newest and largest indoor arena in the UK - throughout October.

After an epic show marking Janet Jackson’s return to Manchester for the first time in more than 25 years kicked off the month, a number of other big names are due to arrive in the city over the next month, starting with iconic Australian rock band Crowded House on 8 October.

Saturday 12 October sees the arrival of Lauryn Hill & The Fugees for a stop off on The Miseducation Anniversary tour, with plenty of hits from the 1990’s hip hop scene set to feature for fans, who will also get to enjoy a set from Hill’s son YG Marley – best known in the UK for his breakthrough hit Praise Jah In The Moonlight.

Things change on Wednesday 16 October when the WWE arrives in town to make its Co-op Live debut. Although subject to change, the line-up for the show is set to feature both Undisputed Champion Cody Rhodes and World Heavyweight Champion Gunther, as well as the likes of Solo Sikoa, Randy Orton, Bayley and Bianca Belair.

It’s back to music on 19 October with Keane hitting the stage for the ongoing celebration of 20 years of the album Hopes and Fears – which spawned hits including Somewhere Only We Know, Everbody’s Changing and Bedshaped.

The rescheduled show will provide an extra treat as rising stars The Lathums from nearby Wigan take up a supporting role.

Another rescheduled event is set to take place with the eagerly-anticipated bout between Jack Catterall and Regis Prograis, that had originally been set for August before Catterall was forced to pull out through injury.

The super-lightweight bout is the big draw on the first boxing card to take place at Co-op Live on 26 October, with plenty of backing expected for local man Catterall.

The month then draws to a close on 28 October with one of the final appearances in the UK for Canadian rock band Sum 41.

The Tour Of The Setting Sum marks the final world tour for the band before it disbands, having announced that the Heaven :x: Hell album will be the last for fans to enjoy.
