Mazda MX-5 ranked as Britain's top sports car
For the second year in a row, the Mazda MX-5 has been named as Britain's favourite sports car in the JD Power annual survey.
The best-selling two-seater looks well placed to extend its reign of supremacy, as it increased its satisfaction rating to 82.4 per cent, giving it an even bigger lead over its nearest rival, the Volkswagen Scirocco.
MX-5 fans were given even more choice earlier this year with the launch of the special edition Kendo models, which come with a new premium trim level.
What Car? praised the MX-5 for its brilliant driving dynamics, low ownership costs and reliable mechanicals.
"The MX-5 proves that sports cars don't need to be sophisticated, luxurious or expensive to be fun-to-drive," the motoring magazine added.
Sports car lovers looking for a no-frills driving thrill can choose from 12 different Mazda MX-5 models, with prices starting at £17,990 on the road.
Other winners in the JD Power survey included the Citreon C3 Picasso, which topped the MPV category.
