National Motor Museum searches for best TV and film cars

The National Motor Museum at Beaulieu is gearing up for the beginning of its popular On Screen Cars exhibition and has called on people to submit ideas for models that should feature in the latest display.

So far, the 'flying' Ford Anglia that was seen in the Harry Potter film franchise will be on display, with the unpredictable car featuring in the second installment of the popular series - Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets.

In real life, the car is owned by the actor who played Ron Weasley in the films - Rupert Grint. It has been loaned for the exhibition and will be on display for expectant fans.

Also set for display will be the lime green MINI featured in TV series Mr Bean. The model that will be on show is the same that was used in the third series of the show based around the calamitous character played by Rowan Atkinson.

Finally, the iconic yellow Regal van from Only Fools and Horses will be out for all to see. Many often confuse the car for a Reliant Robin, but it is still one of the most recognisable vehicles from UK television history.

If you have any other suggestions for cars that should feature as part of the exhibition, email your ideas to [email protected] or call 01590 614603.
