New Alfa Romeo 4C takes to the racetrack again
There has been plenty of buzz around Alfa Romeo’s new compact sports car, the curvy 4C, and while there is still some tantalising time until we’ll see it on the UK’s roads, the 4C will be making a guest appearance soon (Sunday, 4th August) as the Official Safety Car to the Silverstone round of the FIM World Superbike Championship. The very special 4C will be dressed in the red, white and green colours of the Italian flag.
Damien Dally, Head of Brand at Alfa Romeo UK commented: “Alfa Romeo is a proud sponsor of the FIM World Superbike Championship having been associated with the series for seven years now. As we prepare to launch the Alfa 4C here in the UK, it’s fantastic to be able to showcase this car to the public for a second time as it takes to the prestigious Silverstone circuit.”
This exciting outing will be the second public appearance for the coming 4C, the first being a race to the top of the famously unforgiving Goodwood hill climb course at the recent Goodwood Festival of Speed.
The 4C used all of its 240bhp-worth of turbocharged petrol power to thrust its lightweight carbon fibre body and chassis up the Goodwood hill at big speeds, and will have to work very hard too to keep up with the super-fast World Superbike machines on Sunday.
