Nissan Juke: Another stunning Nissan crossover
The Nissan Juke was one of the major draws at the Geneva Motor Show, with flocks of people flooding to the manufacturer's stand to get a closer look at the latest edition of the small crossover.
While the larger Qashqai might have been getting the attention in recent months, scooping notable awards left, right and centre, the Juke is now ready to make a statement with a summer release.
First unveiled three years ago, the Juke followed typical Nissan innovation to create a new market segment.
Now, it has undergone a number of changes to ensure it is still ahead of the game when it comes to new technologies and driving pleasure.
Let's start with the engine. In order to address growing concerns about vehicle emissions, the new Juke comes with an efficient, downsized 1.2 DIG-T turbocharged petrol engine.
It replaces the outgoing 117ps 1.6-litre unit and is an advanced turbocharged direct injection engine, capable of 115ps and 190Nm of torque.
This engine, in addition to a lower body weight and standard automatic Stop/Start feature, means it emits just 126g/km of CO2, while fuel consumption stands at 5.5 litres per 100km.
Customers can still benefit from the existing 1.5-litre dCi diesel engine with 110ps, while a new 1.6-litre DIG-T 4WD version has also been made available.
Of course the model is practical too, boasting a 40 per cent increase in available luggage space over the previous version, giving it a class-leading capacity of 354 litres.
It comes with cracking technology too, including the new NissanConnect system with rear-view parking/reversing camera, around view monitor and safety shield in the Tekna models.
This allows for smartphone connectivity, with social media platforms and entertainment apps accessed through a large 5.8 inch colour touch screen.
Finally, but just as importantly, it looks great; taking all the best of crossover toughness along with sporting appeal to make it the perfect crossover.
