Nissan to reveal new vehicles at 2013 Commercial Vehicle Show
The 13th annual edition of the Commercial Vehicle Show is being used as the platform for Japanese manufacturer Nissan to showcase two brand-new vehicles.
Guests who head along to the event at the NEC in Birmingham will have the opportunity to get an up-close look at the eNV200 - Nissan’s first-ever 100 per cent electric van.
Such a vehicle has already garnered plenty of attention in the motoring industry, thanks to its ability to present fleet operators with zero CO2 at the point of use.
Nissan’s state-of-the-art electric van has also been praised for its driving comfort, its generous carrying capacity and its payload.
Of course, the fact that the Nissan eNV200 runs entirely on electricity also means that drivers do not need to worry about forking out the cash on fuel bills.
Set to be displayed alongside the eNV200 at the 2013 Commercial Vehicle Show will be the Nissan NV200 taxi.
Based on a similar design to the popular multi-purpose NV200 compact van from the Japanese vehicle manufacturer, the taxi edition of the range features a redesign which ensures it complies with the entire list of the TfL’s Taxi Conditions of Fitness.
As a result, the NV200 taxi features space to accommodate five passengers and a modification to assist the needs of a wheelchair passenger. What’s more, the vehicle can achieve a 25-foot turning-circle - a legal requirement of all Hackney Carriages currently in operation.
Jon Pollock, the corporate sales director of Nissan GB, commented: “We’re looking forward to showing the eNV200 to the public and offering a glimpse into the future of vans and their potential low running costs. Fleets that have recently tested the eNV200 have given us excellent feedback and we’re now excited to see the response from the public.
“Since we will not only be featuring the eNV200 and NV200 London Taxi in the UK for the first time but also showcasing one of the widest ranges of available commercial vehicles of any manufacturer present, we’re confident Nissan will have one of the most exciting stands at the show.”
The 13th annual Commercial Vehicle Show takes place at the Birmingham NEC between April 9th and 11th.
