PFA and Bristol Street Motors celebrate local football
Colleagues at Bristol Street Motors Carlisle Vauxhall were delighted to present a Carlisle United FC player with an award from the Professional Footballer’s Association (PFA) and Bristol Street Motors.
James Rooke, franchise manager and newly-appointed business manager, Steve Robson, presented Carlisle United midfielder Jamie Devitt with the PFA Bristol Street Motors Player of the Month Award, at the Brunton Park stadium.
Jamie, 27, is originally from Dublin, Ireland and won his second PFA award with 29% of the vote. The monthly winners are voted for by the public after a panel selects a shortlist of six players from each league.
James Rooke, Franchise Manager at Bristol Street Motors Carlisle Vauxhall said: “It’s fantastic to see that Jamie Devitt has been acknowledged with a PFA award, as it was well-deserved. Carlisle United is doing very well, and their progress definitely fills the local area with a sense of pride. I think that with a final push they could have a chance of reaching the play-offs.
“Carlisle has a close knit, supportive community and everyone knows everyone. It is so rewarding for businesses, like our own, to give something back and help when we can.”
Liz Cope, chief marketing officer at awards partner Vertu Motors plc - parent company of Bristol Street Motors - added,: “We are delighted to continue to support the PFA Bristol Street Motors Fans’ Player of the Month award. Our dealerships across the country take pride in supporting their local communities, with everything from grass roots football to local charity support.
