Plato's title hopes on course after Snetterton win

Jason Plato's title hopes are well and truly back on track after the Brit roared to victory in the recent British Touring Car Championship event in Snetterton.

The win marked a successful day for Silverline Chevrolet as Plato's teammate Alex McDowell helped the team secure a one-two.

Cruze driver Plato said the result can be described a "mission accomplished" in terms if getting his title chase back on course.

"To have arrived here 40 points behind Matt and to be leaving just ten behind him is mission accomplished for us today. We took some big risks in qualifying to get the pole – we had to – and it's paid off really well," he commented.

"We needed both a good haul of points today and for Matt Neal to have a spot of bad luck. In truth, today wasn't easy, but we got what we wanted under the circumstances and it gives us a real chance to capitalise on this."
