Renault 5 E-Tech Scores Another Car Of The Year Award
The new Renault 5 E-Tech has secured another top award to back up its position as one of the most hotly anticipated new cars for 2025 after being named as the What Car? Car of the Year.
The all-electric car went on sale earlier this month and has already secured multiple accolades, including winning European Car of the Year alongside the sister Alpine A290 and being named as Electric Car of the Year at the Top Gear.
The What Car? Awards saw the Renault 5 in mid-range Techno trim pick up the Small Electric Car of the Year award before it walked away with the top prize as overall Car of the Year for 2025 – seeing off the likes of the Kia EV3, the Volkswagen ID. Buzz and the Hyundai Ioniq 5 N.
Alongside further success for the Renault 5, the Renault Clio was a winner for the second successive year as it was named as the winner of the Small Car of the Year.
“The expert team at What Car? test and evaluate hundreds of cars each year, so for the Renault 5 E-Tech electric to be their number one is further proof that R5 is a special car,” Renault UK Managing Director Adam Wood said.
“With Clio also retaining its Small Car of the Year title, it’s clear that Renault has class-leading credentials with two of the very best small cars available, whether customers are looking for an electric, hybrid or petrol car.”
The new Renault 5 is available in a range of different trim levels and provides drivers with a range of up to 253 miles, whilst the Clio remains a popular option for those looking for a cost-effective small car.
