Renault adds powerful diesel engine to Captur range

Renault is introducing a new, more powerful diesel engine to its Captur crossover model range.

The updated 1.5-litre engine boasts better performance figures, without compromising efficiency. It produces an extra 20bhp boosting the total to 110bhp and 260 Nm, yet still returns a claimed 76.4mpg while emitting just 98g/km of CO2, making it exempt from road tax.

The Euro 6 compliant engine will be available on Dynamique, Dynamique S and Signature versions of the Captur.

The Dymanique models come equipped with a MediaNav system including a seven-inch touchscreen, satellite navigation and multimedia connectivity, 17-inch silver alloys and automatic climate control, as standard. Meanwhile, the Dynamique S adds rear parking sensors, 17-inch two-tone alloys and electrically-operated, folding and heated mirrors.

The top-of-the-range Signature version also features Renault's R-Link Multimedia system with TomTom LIVE satellite navigation, Grip Xtend advanced traction control, an uprated 4x35W Arkamys sound system, rear parking camera and leather upholstery.

The new engine will be available to order in the Captur from April 1 2015.
