Renault leads electric car campaign
Renault will be busy this month spreading the positive benefits of electric cars, as it has been named as the main sponsor of Pod Point's 'Charging Around the UK Tour'.
The company has put its support firmly behind the green campaign from the leading charging infrastructure provider, which will take in 15 towns and cities.
Renault will be delivering the virtues of electric cars in its ZOE, a dynamic electric supermini that is described as being "designed for life".
The model benefits from Renault's patented Chameleon charger, which is compatible with power sources up to 43kW. In 30 minutes it can charge the ZOE's battery to 80 per cent capacity.
"We’re pleased to be supporting the charging around the UK campaign," said Ben Fletcher, product manager of Renault UK's electric vehicle programme.
"ZOE has the longest range of any affordable, mass market electric vehicle. It’s quiet, refined and nippy too, so it’s the perfect companion for such a long road trip."
He added that the average supermini will cover 8,000 miles a year. The ZOE will be doing that in just under two weeks.
"[This] will show just how viable it is as an alternative to fossil-fuelled transport," Mr Fletcher concluded.
