Ronan Pearson Celebrates BTCC Success With Dunfermline Hyundai Colleagues

Ronan Pearson was able to share his recent successes in the British Touring Car Championship with colleagues from Macklin Motors after visiting his local dealership in Dunfermline this week.

Ronan, from nearby Kelty, made the trip to the Hyundai dealership on Halbeath Road to show off the race winners trophy he secured at Brands Hatch during the most recent rounds of the season.

It marked the first time that the 22-year-old had made it onto the top step of the podium in Britain’s premier racing series, with the Team BRISTOL STREET MOTORS driver heading his vastly-more experienced team-mate Tom Chilton in a 1-2 finish.

The maiden race win came on the back of Ronan scoring his best qualifying result to date at Donington Park and showed why he is regarded as the hot favourite for the Jack Sears Trophy, the award which is open to drivers who start the season without a podium finish.

After a whistle-stop visit to the dealership to meet colleagues, as well as a number of local race fans, Ronan’s focus now turns back to his on-track role as he heads for the Snetterton circuit in Norfolk for the third meeting of the year this weekend.

Ronan Pearson said: “The support from Macklin Motors has been hugely important since I joined the BTCC grid, so it was great to be able to go along to Hyundai Dunfermline and show off the trophy from Brands Hatch.

“I’m still not sure that it’s really sunk in that I’m a BTCC race winner, but my confidence is on a real high and I can now look ahead to Snetterton and try and push for some more strong results on track. I’ll be fighting hard to bring another trophy back home to Scotland with me after the weekend!”

Paul Lunan, Hyundai Dunfermline General Manager, said: “As a local driver, we’re proud to support Ronan in the BTCC and it’s been fantastic to see how he has grown over the last 18 months. We were all delighted to see him make it onto the top step of the podium for the first time at Brands Hatch and it was great to be able to welcome him to the dealership to hear about it first hand and see the trophy. Hopefully there will be plenty more to come!”
