Skoda Elroq First Look: What To Expect From the New All-Electric SUV

New sketches have been released showing the exterior design ahead of its premiere this autumn.

Today is World EV Day, which is fitting for Skoda as the brand provides a first look at the All-New Skoda Elroq.

The All-New Skoda Elroq is the brand’s first compact electric SUV, and also the first to embody Skoda’s new Modern Solid design language. Read on for everything we know so far.

Modern Solid design

Smart and sophisticated, the All-New Skoda Elroq’s exterior represents the brand’s new corporate identity. At the front, a Tech-Deck face replaces the previous Skoda grille, forming what will be a new signature feature.

This consists of LED Matrix headlights and new ‘Skoda’ lettering on the bonnet in Unique Dark Chrome. With a lean profile, the Skoda Elroq embraces minimalist style, with distinctive lines to match the Modern Solid design.

At the rear, slim LED taillights leave a lasting impression, as well as a sporty roof spoiler. This enhances aerodynamic performance, along with a sloping roofline and alloy wheels. According to Skoda, these help the Elroq deliver a drag coefficient of just 0.26.

Innovative interior

We may not yet have any images of the interior, but we can assume it will be just as impressive as the exterior.

The Loft Design Selection features Recyctitan upholstery, made using 78% recycled PET and clothing. While Technofil – a new material – makes use of nylon waste like fishing nets.

Not just modern in style, the new electric SUV presents a clean, connected cabin with a 13” central display and a 5” Digital Cockpit. This also includes head-up display with augmented reality, allowing you to stay well-informed when it comes to reading the road.

The 470-litre boot provides plenty of space as standard for storing luggage. This can be increased to an impressive 1,580 litres with the rear seats folded.

Big on safety, the All-New Skoda Elroq promises a range of active and passive driver assistance features. These include Travel Assist, Front Assist, and Crew Protect Assist. Using the MySkoda app, the Elroq can even park itself.

Pure electric power

Committed to sustainability and efficiency, the All-New Skoda Elroq offers three electric powertrains. These are the 50, 60, and 85 versions, with power outputs ranging from 170 – 286 PS.

Choose from:

Elroq 50 – RWD, 55kWh battery, 170PS and 190km/h top speed.
Elroq 60 – RWD, 63kWh battery, 204PS, and 160km/h top speed.
Elroq 85 – RWD, 82kWh battery, 286PS, and 180km/h top speed.

Whichever you choose, you can benefit from fast DC charging as standard. The 85 version offers 175kW DC charging, while all three batteries can be charged from 10-80% in around 28 minutes.

For home charging, an 11kW charger will charge the Elroq up to full in between 5.5 and 8 hours. Perfect for an overnight charge to prepare for the next day. According to What Car? the 85 model has received an official range of 348 miles (WLTP) which is competitive for an EV of its size.

Thanks to its long range and rugged body style, the Elroq will be the perfect companion for Everyday Explorers on outdoor adventures, while its compact size also makes it ideal for urban driving.”
