Skoda Updates Octavia Range with New vRS and SportLine Models

Both models offer uncompromising performance, bringing a sportier feel to the Octavia range.

The Skoda Octavia is perhaps one of the most iconic models in the Skoda range. Loved for its sophisticated design and versatile driving features, it’s perfect for a range of needs and lifestyles.

Now, it’s set to become even more popular with new vRS and SportLine models added to the mix. Read on for everything you need to know.

The new vRS

Skoda’s new vRS engine has been designed on the same platform as the championship-winning Fabia RS Rally2 car. The new 2.0-litre TSI four-cylinder petrol unit now produces 265PS and 370Nm torque, for a sportier, more engaging drive.

Driven through a seven-speed DSG automatic transmission, the new vRS reaches 0-62mph in just 6.4 seconds (6.5 for the estate). This makes it the most powerful vRS yet in the Octavia range.

Power is increased through a VAQ electrohydraulic differential lock, for optimal grip and control. While the chassis has been lowered by 15mm to improve driving dynamics.

As for aesthetics, the Octavia vRS has been given restyled front and rear bumpers, plus a new vRS logo on the radiator grille.

Other highlights include a black grille surround, side trim, and door mirrors, plus a new bumper diffuser and tailpipes at the rear. The estate now comes with black roof rails as standard, and both models feature sporty 19” Elias anthracite alloy wheels.

Inside, the new vRS features a more stylish, detailed interior. Features include a three-spoke multifunction leather steering wheel and aluminium pedal covers. The sports seats feature red contrast stitching with the vRS logo. These also have an integrated lumbar support and massage function, for added luxury.

Technology is also enhanced with the large 13” infotainment system, featured across the range. Plus, a 10” Virtual Cockpit and optional head-up display. Fast-charging USB-C ports can be found in the front and rear, while passengers in the rear can adjust the air con for where they are seated.

The new SportLine

Skoda’s updated SportLine features a 2.0-litre TDI 150PS diesel engine, in addition to the current 1.5-litre TSI and TSI e-TEC petrol engines. This will be available from £35,755 OTR and offers the perfect blend of performance and efficiency. WLTP combined fuel consumption figures are 60.6mpg for the hatch and 59.9mpg for the estate.

The new SportLine is equipped with a seven-speed DSG gearbox as standard, for a more seamless driving experience. It has also had its own sporty styling upgrade with 18” Vega Aero black alloy wheels, metallic paint, and a gloss black trim. Inside, it features comfortable sports seats, a black headliner, and carbon-effect door inserts.
