Vauxhall unveils Zafira Tourer plans

It has been confirmed that the Vauxhall Zafira Tourer concept will become a production reality next year.

The manufacturer reports that the concept car, which debuted at the 2011 Geneva Motor Show in March, will sit above the current Zafira model in the line-up and should reach showrooms in the UK by early 2012.

It will feature Flex7 seats to accommodate up to seven people, while new technology improve comfort, ride quality and fuel economy.

The Zafira Tourer will be available with a choice of a 1.8 petrol, 1.4 turbo petrol or 2.0 CDTi diesel engine, boasting between 110PS and 165PS.

Vauxhall also confirmed that safety will be improved with the inclusion of traffic sign recognition, side blind spot alert and advance park assist features.

"The new model will sit above the current Zafira model in Vauxhall's line-up and is set to raise the bar for design, luxury, flexibility and innovation in the multi-purpose vehicle sector," the company stated.

Vauxhall recently won Fleet World Honours awards for Best Upper Medium Car (Insignia), Safety (Movano) and Editor's Choice.ADNFCR-3205-ID-800547767-ADNFCR
