Vauxhall's Astra VXR goes faster still
The 280bhp Vauxhall Astra is about as slouchy as Usain Bolt in standard trim, but that's not stopped aftermarket tuning firm, Superchips, from making it even quicker still. Hold on to your hats!
Offered in two distinct tuning stages, the Superchips ECU and exhaust upgrades boost the fiery Astra's output from between 23 and 32bhp. Engine torque is also increased in this petrol-head performance package, that uses the firm's Bluefin engine control handset.
To kick off the extra shove, a ‘Stage 1’ ECU remap delivers an extra 23bhp at 5093rpm, plus an extra 61Nm of torque, but still keeps all the GM factory electronic failsafes; making sure the Astra is reliable.
Next up is the 'Stage 2' Superchips ECU remap that brings a further 32bhp at 5698rpm and 75Nm of torque at 2935rpm to the power party. This upgrade needs a freer-flowing exhaust system to make the most noticeable improvements; something that is supplied in the kit.
Prices for this extra go-go start at just £365, with both the Stage 1 and Stage 2 Superchips Vauxhall Astra GTC VXR ECU remaps covered by a 12 month / 30,000 supplementary vehicle warranty.
