What to Expect From the New Ford Fiesta
The Ford Fiesta is always near the top of new and used sales charts in the UK, and that’s no surprise. It’s practical, comfortable and fun to drive, appealing to audiences of all ages.
The hugely popular hatchback has received a number of exciting updates for 2022. Watch the video below, or read on to find out what to expect from the latest evolution...
Exterior
The new Ford Fiesta sports a refreshed front face, with a wider grille, housing Ford’s famous oval badge in the centre rather than above, as in previous models. This new face will feature on all of Ford’s upcoming passenger cars.
A re-sculpted bonnet creates a more prominent front end, evoking a sporty aesthetic. Optional Matrix LED headlamps include a special glare-free high beam and integrated fog lamps.
From the side of the vehicle, there are no major changes, although you will be able to select from seven new wheel designs. At the rear, you’ll find deep red tail lamps with much stealthier black surrounds.
Plus, two new colour finishes are available this time around – Boundless Blue and Beautiful Berry.
Interior
The interior of the new Ford Fiesta has been enhanced with updated design elements and an abundance of in-car technology.
A new 12.3-inch digital cluster displays driver information in high definition and is accompanied by the 8-inch SYNC touchscreen infotainment system, which allows drivers and passengers to take care of numerous vehicle settings and navigation needs. Drivers will also be able to stay connected to their vehicle from afar, toggling various pre-heating and security settings remotely via the FordPass app.
The new Ford Fiesta also comes with an array of safety technology, including driver assistance systems such as Wrong Way Alert, Adaptive Cruise Control, Automatic Emergency Braking and Blind Spot Monitoring, to make for a safe and effortless drive. A 180-degree rearview camera also comes as standard – ideal if you find squeezing into tight parking spots tricky.
Engines
Ford has introduced two new mild-hybrid engine options for the new Ford Fiesta, which can reduce WLTP fuel consumption by 5%. The EcoBoost hybrid powertrains use an electric motor to assist an internal combustion engine, which delivers instant torque and acceleration.
The entry-level mild-hybrid version produces 123bhp, while the more powerful model has an output of 153bhp. There is also the option of a 1.0-litre EcoBoost petrol engine, with an output of 99bhp.
With the new Ford Fiesta, you’ll get the same fun driving experience as ever, but with fresh looks and elevated technology. If you’re looking for a small hatchback that delivers even more, you’ve found it right here.
