Ensuring you get your vehicle serviced regularly will help to keep key vehicle components in good working order, reducing the risk of a breakdown or an accident due to worn, damaged or unsafe parts. Plus, having a full service history when it comes to selling your car means you're more likely to get a higher valuation, as it demonstrates the vehicle has been well maintained.

What is covered by new car warranty?
New car warranties differ by manufacturer. However, you can find out the specific items covered by your warranty by checking the vehicle handbook. Alternatively, you can contact the dealership where you purchased your vehicle.
Its important to remember you are not always covered as certain things can void your warranty.
These include, but are not limited to:
- Exceeding mileage limits
- Overloading your vehicle
- Not regularly servicing your vehicle
- Using the wrong type of fuel and unapproved fluids
- Vehicle modifications
- Vehicle misuse
- Aggressive driving
If you get yourself an extended warranty, the terms of your warranty may be different. You should always check your specific terms with your warranty provider.
On the other hand, fluids such as oil, antifreeze and brake fluid are not covered by a warranty. In addition, any wear and tear parts such as tyres and windscreen wipers are not covered. Plus, any scratches or cosmetic damage is not generally covered by warranty.
Does car warranty cover MOT failure?
No, an MOT is a legal requirement mandated by the UK government.
What are the benefits of extended warranty?
Extended warranty is additional cover that offers you extra peace of mind. The warranty provider covers all the repair or replacement parts in your vehicle, specified in your contract.
